FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What's the difference between pre-qualification and pre-approval?

Pre-qualification is an informal estimate based on what you tell us. Pre-approval involves a review of your credit, income and assets, which gives sellers more confidence in your offer.

How much do I need for a down payment?

It depends on the loan program. Some government-backed programs allow little or no down payment for eligible borrowers, and California assistance programs may help with upfront costs.

Is the mortgage calculator a loan quote?

No. The calculator is an educational estimate only. Your actual rate and payment depend on your full financial profile and current market conditions.

Can family help with my down payment?

Many programs permit gift funds from family members, subject to documentation requirements.

Should I refinance?

It depends on your goals — lowering a payment, changing your term, or accessing equity. Matthew can walk through the costs and trade-offs with you.
